Memorizing Scripture

Ok...so I try to start each Monday morning off by picking a new Bible passage to memorize for that week. The past few weeks have not been so successful because of travels. So I figured if I post about it, you can help keep me accountable plus you can learn them too! Why is this important? If you have God's Word memorized He can speak to you through His Word when you don't have the Bible right in front of you and He can use it by helping you recall It when ministering and praying for others or yourself. I pray scripture during my "quiet times" and have certain ones that I pray for myself, Brad, and my girls daily. I also pray scripture for friends and find scripture to pray that is applicable to what is going on in my life. Since there are 52 weeks in the year I will start a list which will eventually have 52 verses in it. We are already in March (goodness where has the time gone!) so I will start at one and lead up to this week which should be week 10, assuming I counted on my calendar correctly! If you have any suggestions of passages to learn, leave them in the comments box. I may go ahead and fill in some weeks past week 10 if I think of passages or verses that I really want to commit to memory. I encourage you to do this with me! Let's let God's Word do a work in our hearts! (I listed 10 weeks of verses I already have memorized. Here are some more that I have memorized so don't list these as suggestions: Luke 10:2, 2 Tim. 1:7, John 1:1,14, John 14:6, Psalm 19:14, Phil. 4:4-7, Psalm 111:10, Galatians 3:24, Prov. 3:5,6, Psalm 119:11, Luke 1:37, Matt. 28:19,20, John 15:5, Galatians 2:20, Matt. 13:44, Matt. 5: 27-30. Helpful hint...If you have a smart phone get a note card application and make note cards by copying and pasting from your Bible app! That way you have them with you everywhere to review! :)

1. Psalm 51:10-13 (i pray this daily for me and Brad! Powerful verse!)
2. John 10:10 (this is one reason I pray scripture over my family! the devil wants to destroy my family---I MUST pray for them!)
3. Ephesians 6:10-17 (another one to pray to get ready for each day!)
4. Philippians 2: 5-11 (great passage packed with the gospel!)
5. Romans road (Romans 3:23, 6:23, 5:8, 10:13, 10:9,10)
6. Romans 1:16
7. Romans 1:20 (why we must tell people about Jesus!)
8. 1 John 1:9
9. 2 Timothy 1:7
10. John 3:16-21 (i know you have 16 memorized but do you have 17-21?)
11. 1 John 5:3
